At first I thought the same thing... MSG4 isn't the first AAA third party game exclusive to hit the PS3 but it appears to actually be true.

The three major issues with the 360 in my opinion are:
1. RROD
2. Non-standard HDD
3. $50 a year for XBL
RROD is being addressed with new models but still tarnished the 360 rep very badly. It'll never go away this generation. MS will have to work extra hard to prove reliability next generation. But they will. They have to or its game over for them.

Its clear (to me anyway) that Europe is the most important market for Sony this generation. Why they wouldn't put more effort in for stuff like this is beyond me. Yeah there are a bunch of languages but come on. Europeans love Sony products... I'd say its worth the extra effort.
Japan is a very small market compared to North America and Europe. Its going to be hard for PS3 to catch the 360 in the North America anytime soon so Europe should get a lot of focus as its now the bigg...

A lot of people (Sony fans) say once in game XMB PSN will pass XBL but I have to disagree.
Besides universal in game messaging the other thing that bothers me about PSN is the system of third parties hosting the servers. Because of this we've seen major releases launch with broken multiplayer on PSN including (TF2, COD4, R6V2 and GTA IV).

Maybe your right about Mario Kart. Didn't mean to be harsh I just didn't' like the game. I found it frustrating. You get in first place by driving well then get pinged a million times by everyone in the back with cheap weapons you can't dodge. The original MK games were great. For me its been all down hill since Mario Kart 64.
I'm still on Act 3 but loving it. I haven't played a Metal Gear game since the original on NES but I'm still sucked into the story. Presentation is amazing no doubt.
